Stay positive at home

When a bully is trying to steal your power, hang on to it by taking extra care of yourself at home. Lift your spirits with feel-good crafts that express who you are. Write in your journal, or write a letter to a friend.

Also, talk with your parents about what’s going on, and follow their rules for staying safe—especially when you’re using cell phones or the Internet.

What is cyberbullying

In the book Chrissa Stands Strong, she receives a mean message online. Using the Internet or cell phones to bully others is known as cyberbullying, and it’s never O.K. What should you do if you receive a hurtful message? Don’t respond.

Instead, show the message to an adult right away, then get offline and talk about how to handle the situation. Check yourself, too, when you’re sending a message—especially if you’re angry. Once you press “send,” you can’t take that message back.
